A Royal Affair

Hotel Noormahal is a panoramic property in Karnal, Haryana. The architecture is the perfect blend of the Mughal and Rajputana grandeur.

I was given a jovial welcome with refreshing beverages and marigold garland by the very warm and welcoming staff. Our room had a private balcony and the most amazing view of the property . After freshening up we had a hearty lunch at the Frontier Mail which operated between Mumbai and Peshwar during pre-independence days. Beautiful presentation, finger-lickin’ meal and amazing hospitality really made us feel like royalty!

The evening was well spent by the poolside sipping wine and enjoying a beautiful sunset. Little did we know, the Noor Mahal team had prepared a scrumptious high tea for us! The series of delicious meals were the biggest part of our stay, I guess they knew the way to our hearts!

The next day was mostly about some more unwinding from the hustle bustle of city life. I enjoyed a relaxing spa session and took a walk around the property exploring the beauty that Noor Mahal is. Every corner had something interesting and something historic.

Then came dinner time which was arranged so beautifully with a traditional musical performance. I had the most delicious Rajasthani cuisine with traditional dishes like Dal Bati Churma (my fav!), Laal Maas, Gatte ki sabzi, Ghevar and what not! Truly a royal meal!

On the third day that was 25th August which was also my last day I had a delectable breakfast which I decided to order in my room itself. I had to say goodbye to this gorgeous beauty even though I didn’t want to!

This 3-day trip helped me relax and rejuvenate which was much needed. This place makes for an excellent staycation when you just need to unwind and de-stress. I cannot wait to visit this place again!
