Review-Le Max2

The latest technology to hit the market is LeEco’s Le Max2 and we couldn’t be more excited! With the new CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) technology which as the name suggests is capable of end-to-end lossless digital music transmission and a great set of front and rear cameras, it is definitely going to take the market by storm!

Le Max2 comes in two variants – a 4GB RAM + 32GB storage model at Rs. 22,999 and a 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model that costs Rs. 29,999.

This super sleek and classy phone has a 21MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It has similar design like the Le Max, with the near-bezel-less display, and a front body that’s covered with a layer of glass.

The camera is in the centre on the back, with the fingerprint scanner just below it which comes in very handy while unlocking the phone. Camera is one aspect where I feel the Le Max2 performs quite well. The photos are sharp and vivid, especially those taken in daylight. The low-light performance of the Le Max2 doesn’t disappoint either.

The 5.7-inch 2K display means this phone is not for those with tiny hands. It is definitely a bulky device but you cannot ignore its performance. Getting a cover and a tempered glass to protect this phone is a must. Le Max2 offers a high resolution in this price. Plus, LeEco has included Android Marshmallow’s Adaptive Display feature in the settings.

I usually keep the brightness at less than 30-50 per cent at all times but cranking it up to full was a bit too much for regular usage. On the battery front, Le Max2 lasted 10-12 hours with heavy usage, which is great considering the 2K Display. It does not have a slot for external memory cards. The Le Max2 works with LeEco’s CDLA-powered earphones connected through its USB Type-C port. First up, you can’t just use a pair of earphones lying around to listen to music, or borrow one from anyone around, and secondly, if you forget to carry these CDLA earphones, then you’ll just not be able to listen to music. But not to worry, it comes with a USB Type-C to 3.5mm audio adaptor which can connect any regular earphones to this phone.

Purchase of this mobile comes with a 1-year membership to channels on LIVE, so one could get TV experience in it. Also, it has one of the smoothest touch screen functionality as compared to other mobiles till now.

For early adopters buying during the flash sales, LeEco also throws in a pair of CDLA earphones (featuring the reversible USB Type-C connector) with every purchase of the Le Max2! The CDLA earphones do not allow any sound quality loss and can reproduce the variations in sound in a better or we say the best manner possible.

It is indeed a very good investment and it doesn’t disappoint in its looks either. The phone looks very chic and the subtle Rose Gold color is beautiful to say the least. I can’t stop whipping it out now and then to show off a little… 😉
