Risqué ruffles

Grey plaid fabric resonates strongly with workwear and so did this beautiful skirt with ruffled suspenders when I first saw it. Although, H&M likes to call it “Pinafore dress with frills”, but who are you kidding H&M? It’s a skirt, even more so when the suspenders are detachable. Anyway, so when I first saw the skirt, it had a strong workwear vibe and only because of the fabric used else it is one of the most fun and versatile skirts I have seen in a while! I wanted to take it far from workwear and make it more casual and dare I say it, more risqué.  The easiest way would have been to pair it with a cop top but somehow I felt the high-waist design of the skirt would just cut the midriff short in a weird way and the crop top length would not do justice to the look. So, instead I went for a regular t-shirt but with a plunging lace-up neckline to make the outfit more daring and fun. I love the outcome, it’s fun, sexy and in a fashion career, could be even work appropriate!
